Jean Quinn Collahuazo: Soprano
Jean Quinn Collahuazo has an enthusiastic and philanthropic spirit. She attributes this to her family's humanitarian example. She has been featured on WLRN and Coral Gables TV with full orchestra in various tapings of The American Ideal for school children under the direction of her vocal coach, Maestra Bella Griffith Smith. She has performed with Miami Lyric Opera in Puccini's Opera, Suor Angelica as a 'Novizia' and will be interpreting the role of 'Clorinda' in Rossini's Opera Cinderella or La Cenerentola in July of 2019 at the South Dade Cultural Arts Center in Cutler Bay. Currently, Jean is an active member of the National Realtors Association (NAR), the Florida Realtors Association and the Miami Association of Realtors (MAR) through her brokerage, Esslinger Wooten Maxwell (EWM) Realty International. She also serves on the board of The Coral Gables Chamber Symphony and Opera and is a member of The University of Miami Alumni Association. In addition, she is an affiliate member of The Florida Education association (FEA), The Florida Catholic Conference (FCC) and The American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) in Washington DC. Jean, a classical music and education enthusiast, is originally from Bluefields, Nicaragua and has predominately lived in Miami, Florida. She values faith, family, and her community and is an adamant advocate against Child/Human Trafficking.
Lauren Frick: Mezzo Soprano
Lauren Frick, a native of Central Pennsylvania, is a graduate of The Longy School of Music of Bard College. She holds both a Masters of Music degree and Graduate Performance Diploma in Opera from that institution. She was a resident artist with Thompson Street Opera in Louisville, KY, and has performed and premiered several operas with them over the last few years. She also recently debuted with the Miami Lyric Opera as Mamma Lucia and La Badessa in their productions of Cavalleria Rusticana and Suor Angelica. She also debuted with Orchestra Miami last season as 2nd Lady in their production of The Magic Flute. Lauren was thrilled and honored to be asked to perform along side the formidable Christine Goerke and Alan Held in the inaugural season of the Wagner Institute here in Miami, FL. Her favorite roles include, Mrs. De Rocher in Dead Man Walking, Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Ruth in Pirates of Penzance, the Old Lady in Candide, and Zia Principessa in Suor Angelica. She is also currently on faculty at New World School of the Arts, teaching voice and diction, and studies with the formidable pedagogue, Manny Perez.
Juan Mansilla: Baritone
Juan Mansilla is a composer, conductor, singer and educator. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in vocal performance from Florida Atlantic University and with a Master of Music in Composition from Florida International University. As singer, he has performed as soloist in productions of Handel’s Messiah, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer, Carlos Pinto’s Misa Afro-brasileira, McGlynn’s Celtic Mass, amongst many other choral works. He has also participated on stage in works such as Mozart’s Don Giovanni in the title role, Weill’s Street Scene as Harry Easter, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera in the title role, and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi in the title role among others. His interest in singing doesn’t stay on the big stage. He has been part of chamber vocal ensembles and solo recitals. His compositions and arrangements have been premiered and performed in the United States, Colombia, Spain, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. As Educator, Juan has interest in training younger voices. He has trained students that have made it into title role and supportive roles in Broadway on tour and the West End in London, as well as high position in local, regional and national competitions.
