Now in our fifth consecutive year, the 'Messiah Celebration' has already become a joyful tradition of music, community and heralding the Savior's birth in South Florida!
ABOUT THE MUSIC
First Half:
Advent and Christmas has served as inspiration for much sacred music. We will blend traditional carols with new ones (Come Lord Jesus, We Remember Every Christmas and the premier of Noche Santa) as we herald the coming of our Savior. The first half of our program reflects: the Annunciation, Journey to Bethlehem and Birth of the Savior.
Second Half:
The ‘Messiah’ by George Frederic Handel holds a very special place both in Western Music and as a sacred Oratorio. Perhaps miraculously, Handel completed the piece in only 24 days. The first performance was made to raise money to free men from debtor’s prison. The premier secured the release of 142 prisoners. At the end of his manuscript Handel wrote the words: “Soli Deo Gloria” (To God alone be the glory). Our performance also caries this intention.
This program is made possible each year by your generous contributions! Admission is free. Donations are appreciated!
Suggested Donations: Adults $20, Students $10, Children $5
